If you have items that meet our criteria above, email us at shop@sundaymorningthrift.ca.

Subject: Your Name & Buyout

In the email include the following:

  1. Photos of the item, front and back, as well as a photo of any notable flaws.

  2. Brand

  3. Size

  4. Purchase price (if you know this)

If you’re local to the Ottawa area and looking to rehome items from your closet, we offer clothing buyouts. Minimum submission of 5 items, maximum submission of 20 items.

WHAT DO WE BUY?

We DO accept: women’s clothing, gender neutral clothing, accessories, jewellery, footwear, outerwear and handbags for buyout.

We do NOT accept: lingerie, undergarments, swimwear, shapewear, wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses, men's clothing, costumes, baby, children, or teen clothing.

Brands/items WE LOVE: quality fabrics including wool, cotton, silk, linen, cashmere. Clothing Made in Canada. We also love brands like Madewell, Aritzia, Free People, & Other Stories, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Frank & Oak, Everlane, Levi’s, L.L.Bean…and cool vintage finds!

Brands we likely won’t accept: Forever 21, H&M, Zara, Clothing from Walmart/Costco, Joe Fresh…these tend to be more difficult brands to sell secondhand given the original price point and quality of product. We do make exceptions sometimes based on the type of item, condition and style but we aren’t looking to purchase large quantities of these brands.

Our seasonal calendar of items we are accepting:

August – January: Accepting Fall & Winter clothing (pants, sweaters, jackets, coats, boots…cozy vibes)

February-July: Accepting Spring/Summer clothing

Items must be washed and neatly folded in bag. Please ensure they do not have any holes or stains. Minor signs of wear are expected but anything beyond that must be noted to us, ideally with a photo and likely won’t be accepted unless it’s a gem of an item.

We are a size inclusive shop. We accept all sizes. 

We strive to offer our customers the best selection of curated secondhand goods. We will be selective with the items we choose to take in.

HOW IT WORKS

Step 2

We will review your email and get back to you with:

  1. What items we would like to buy

  2. The price we are offering to purchase each item at. Our purchase price is approx. 30% of the resale price. Our resale price is approx. 30-50% of the original retail price. (Example: A shirt that retailed for $100, would have a resale price of $30-$50 and we would offer to buy it from you for $9-$15.) We take several factors into account when determining these prices including but not limited to: type of item, brand, style, fabric, condition. We DO NOT negotiate on the price offered.

  3. If you accept the buyout, then we move to step 3!

Step 3

To finalize your buyout, we will:

  1. Book an appointment to drop-off your items in Merrickville for inspection and collection.

  2. Confirm your email for e-transfer. Once items have been received and inspected at your appointment, an e-transfer will be sent for the buyout amount.

    If any of the items are determined to not be in an acceptable condition at the time of inspection, they will be removed from the buyout.
